Takehomes

Takehomes are basic assignments given to candidates as an initial filter. They are not intended to qualify the candidate for the position. They are intended to filter out candidates that we should not even spend (detailed) time looking over the resume.

Generally speaking, these takehomes are sent to everybody who applies depending on the role.

These takehomes are adapted to the ATS we use. These are usually called "template" messages. In the case of Polymer, the takehomes are stored as Gists in MatrixAI-Bot's GitHub profile.

Links to these secret gists are put into the template message that is sent to the candidate.

The configuration for the message templates is in Polymer: https://app.polymer.co/hire/settings/message_templates

After the takehome is completed, it is checked, if it was done accurately, then a face to face interview is conducted. But it's a first come first serve basis. During the interview, engineering candidates is given a task, specifically to review the Inertial-Orbit-Detection repository. They can take it home to review first, and then there's a pair review that occurs in a final interview.
